    BEIJING, July 16 (Xinhua) — Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping has detailed main tasks for the training of officials in the next few years as the Communist Party of China (CPC) launched a new round of major training programs for its cadres.

    He said relevant training institutions must put "quality and efficacy" of official training to a more prominent place and promote innovation in this regard.

    Xi, also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, made the remarks when addressing a national conference on official training.

    The training should focus on "fortifying conviction and belief" of officials and enhancing their "capability of governing and leading scientific development" in their jurisdiction, he said.

    The major tasks of the major new training program for cadres in the next few years are to equip officials with a system of theories of socialism with Chinese characteristics, the CPC’s lines, principle and policies, the country’s laws and regulations, the experience of the reform and opening-up, as well as the CPC’s fine traditions, Xi stressed.
